Thrive staff are not simply supervisors, but rather mentors to your children. We are experienced and passionate about working with kids to see them reach their full potential. We take multiple training courses and seminars each year to enhance our ability to make a positive influence on your child’s life, including but not limited to the following topics:
physical, emotional, social and intellectual development for kids 10-12 years
recognizing and responding to abuse
risk assessment and risk management of outdoor activities
understanding and communicating with scout aged youth
developmentally appropriate games that develop personal growth in motor skills and confidence

Heroes Impact Society (18 training hours) Building the following into children and Youth: self esteem, self image, confidence, self dignity, self respect, positive choices, character, resiliency, bullying, ABCs of friendship, personal purpose.
Jonathan is our manager at the St. David's - North Glenmore Center. Jonathan loves movies, video games, and music (singing, guitar, piano). He knows sign language and is not afraid to use it! He is also interested in sports (basketball, hockey, soccer), fitness, cars and travel. Jonathan's favourite sports teams are the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Raptors and Toronto Bluejays. His favourite food is Haystacks. He loves the colour blue. His favourite kid's joke is "Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 789!" Jonathan has a Bachelor of Arts in vocal performance. He has also completed part of his Bachelor of Education - Elementary Education. He has been a camp counselor and a CEA working with deaf and hard of hearing kids. He has also worked in care homes with varied clients with lower development and behaviour issues.
When it comes to Thrive, Jonathan really enjoys playing sports and games with the kids. He even has two amazing boys of his own, Jayden and Brady. He loves getting to connect with the kids on a personal level and helping nurture them to grow up to be the best version of themselves. In the future he would like to record an album, build a sports car with his boys, and travel to places like Australia, Spain, Sweden, and more!
Teresa loves playing and teaching the guitar. She also loves dancing especially swing dancing. In her quiet moments she enjoys curling up with a good book. Her favourite food is her Grandpa's lasagna. She is a fan of the Vancouver Canucks. Her favourite colour is fuchsia. Her favourite kids joke is "Why was the turkey on the roof? Because it had lipstick on." Teresa is proud of her Italian ancestry, which is evident when she talks about food, her family or the FIFA World Cup.
Teresa has had over 7 years of experience working with children and youth. At Thrive she really loves free play time with the kids. She loves the opportunity to invest in the lives of these children five days a week. In the future Teresa would love to help feed the poor and destitute people in India, showing them God's love and their equality with other people groups.
